1. The short version
Memoir is for planning events and keeping memories with people you trust. Be kind, respect people’s privacy, and only share what you’d be comfortable with everyone in the event seeing. These rules apply to everything on Memoir: events, itineraries, chats, photos, videos, files, reviews and profiles. They are part of our Terms, and we have zero tolerance for breaking them.
2. Not allowed
- Child sexual abuse or exploitation of any kind, including sexualised images of minors and grooming. We remove it, ban the account and report it to the authorities. See Child Safety Standards.
- Harassment and bullying: insults, threats, intimidation, unwanted repeated contact, encouraging others to target someone.
- Hate: attacks on people because of race, ethnicity, caste, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar characteristics.
- Sexual content and nudity, and any intimate image shared without the consent of everyone in it.
- Violence: threats, glorifying violence, terrorism or violent extremism, graphic or gory content.
- Self-harm: content promoting or encouraging suicide, self-harm or eating disorders.
- Illegal activity: selling drugs, weapons or other regulated goods; anything else illegal.
- Private information: sharing someone’s phone number, address, ID documents or other private details without permission.
- Scams, spam and impersonation: fake events, phishing, misleading links, mass invitations, pretending to be someone else.
- Intellectual property you don’t have the right to share.
3. Photos of other people
Ask before posting photos or videos of other people, especially children. If someone asks you to remove a photo of them, please do. You can report photos of yourself that were posted without your consent.
4. How to report
- Messages: long-press the message in the event chat → Report.
- Photos, videos and files: open the item → menu (⋮) → Report.
- Reviews: tap the menu on the review → Report.
- Events and people: open the event or the person’s profile → menu → Report.
- Not in the App? Email support@memoir4u.com with a description and, if possible, a screenshot.
Reports are confidential. The person you report isn’t told who reported them.
5. How to block
Long-press one of their messages, or open their profile, and choose Block. You won’t see their messages, reviews or media any more, and they can’t invite you to events. They aren’t told. Unblock them at any time under More → Blocked people.
6. What we do
- Our team reviews every report within 24 hours.
- Depending on how serious it is, we remove the content, warn the person, suspend the account, or ban it permanently. Serious or repeated violations lead to a permanent ban.
- We report illegal content — and always child sexual abuse material — to the relevant authorities.
7. Appeals
If you think we made a mistake, email support@memoir4u.com within 30 days. A different member of our team will review it.
8. Emergencies
If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first (112 in India and the EU, 911 in the US). Memoir can’t respond to emergencies.
